Ground solar mounting systems are solar panels’ frames and structures for mounting them on open land, be it on the field, in the desert, or on buildings. The materials used for the system structures is mainly galvanized steel or aluminum and comes with fixed-tilt, single-axis tracker, or dual-axis tracker. The fixed-tilt system is the most economical as it has its angle set at 30-45 degrees relative to the latitude of the region, while tilt trackers will adjust the position of the panels to align with sunlight. Ground mounts are attached/anchored using screw piles, concrete footings, or ballast weights. Concrete footings and ballast are easier to use; however, screw piles are the most convenient for quick installation in soft soils (5-10 minutes per pile).
