These are non-penetrative systems that employ weighted blocks to hold solar panels on flat or low-pitched roofs. Sunforson’s ballast mounts have aluminum rails that are supported by concrete or steel blocks. The ballast weight is designed to counteract wind uplift forces (1.5-2x maximum wind pressure). The blocks are arranged in a grid pattern, thereby redistributing the loads across the roof membrane (load: 15-20 kg/m2).
